Several drivers charged with speeding through school zones as police focus on student safety

KAWARTHA LAKES-Several drivers are facing charges of speeding through school zones in the Lindsay area.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is focusing on student safety during the month of June, through targeted traffic enforcement. Police say during the afternoon of June 11, officers targeted motorists who were not obeying the reduced speed limit in school zones.

As a result of this enforcement, several drivers were charged with speeding related offences.

For the remainder of this school year, City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service officers will be conducting traffic enforcement in school zones and around school buses. Officers will be targeting vehicles that are speeding, or failing to stop for school buses and crossing guards.
