Police reminding residents to Lock it or Lose it

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service would like to remind the community to lock their vehicles and store valuables out of plain sight.

Unfortunately, too many people continue to be victimized by one of the most preventable crimes, thefts from unlocked vehicles. During the past week several Lindsay area residents have contacted the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service to report the theft of property from their vehicles. The following tips will help to safeguard you and protect your property:
Ensure your car doors are always locked and the windows rolled up
Park in well-lit areas.

Never leave money or other valuables in plain sight, (this includes GPS, cell phones, medications, etc.)

Put shopping bags and other parcels in the trunk.

Never leave your car unattended if it running unattended.
