Keswick man facing numerous charges after vehicle stop

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Keswick man faces multiple driving related charges after his vehicle was stopped on Simcoe Road within the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Police say on June 5, 2019 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light. The officer conducted a vehicle stop and the ensuing investigation resulted in the driver, Daniel Snooks, 23 years of age, being charged with the following offences:

  • Red light, fail to stop contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner, contrary to the HTA
  • Drive while under suspension, contrary to the HTA
  • Drive motor vehicle – no plates, contrary to the HTA
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
