KAWARTHA LAKES-Family of Johannes Wynia say they’ve received a report that a man matching the description of Wynia was spotten on Sunday heading towards Norland with a broken bike and carrying a backpack.
The Killaloe OPP put out a missing person report for Wynia on may 31st.
Members of the Killaloe detachment responded to a report of a missing person on Schutt Road in the Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan on May 3. The missing person was identified as Johannes Wynia, 71, of Palmer Rapids, who was last seen in the Killaloe, Golden Lake area on May 22 and may be travelling on a bicycle. Wynia is known to travel on a bicycle through areas of Eastern Ontario and parts of Quebec.
Police are concerned for his wellbeing. Wynia’s family told Kawartha 411 that if he was on his way to visit family in Barrie he would go through the Norland area.
The missing person is described as 5′ 10″ with a medium build and silver grey hair. He may have a moustache and possibly goes by the name “Hans.”
A photo was not provided by police, but Wynia’s niece Tamara Tiemersma submitted recent photos to Muskoka 411.
