Three local Police officers promoted

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service has promoted three Police officers.

Constable Brendan Johnston has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant and has taken over as the officer in charge of “C” Platoon.

Constable Deb Hagarty has also been promoted to the rank of Sergeant and will assume her new position in September of this year

Sergeant Kirk Robertson has been promoted to Inspector in charge of Support Services and will also begin his new role in September

Chief Mark Mitchell noted that all three officers have a wealth of experience and are deeply connected to our community. Chief Mitchell stated, “We are very fortunate to have such capable leaders within our organization and congratulate them on this career accomplishment.”

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service also welcomed a new member, Police Constable Jeff Newhouse, who was officially sworn in as a member of the police service on May 16, 2019.

Constable Newhouse was previously employed for six years as a member of the Military Police within the Canadian Armed Forces.  Most recently, Constable Newhouse worked for five years as a Police Constable with a police service in the Greater Toronto Area.
