Food bank issues urgent appeal for donations

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Food Source has issued an urgent appeal for donations.

Officals say the number of people using local food banks has gone up drastically recently. On average about 800 people use food banks per month in the City. However that number has jumped to 1164 and its put a strain on resources. More than 400 of those are children.

Donations of rice, soup, canned meat and stew, cheerios, pasta sauce and pasta, pancake mix and syrup, quaker chewy bars, baby cereal, baby food and formula are urgently needed.
