Police say on April 28th an officer was patrolling on Porter Road when a vehicle travelling at 132km/h in an 80km/h zone was observed. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and the ensuing investigation allegedly revealed the presence of 1.5 grams of cannabis in the vehicle.

As a result, the driver, Chase Reynolds, 19 years of age, was charged with the following offences:

  • Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Drive motor vehicle with cannabis readily available, contrary to the Cannabis Control Act

The officer seized the cannabis and the vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded for seven days.
