KAWARTHA LAKES-The Ontario Provincial Police is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 65 year-old male, Bernie Babin.  He was last seen on Balsam Lake Dr. in Bexley Township on April 28, 2019.

Bernie Babin is described as: 5’9-5’10, no facial hair, walks with a limp. He may be wearing black jogging pants, dark gray sweater, baseball hat.

Neighbours say there was a fire in the garage at Babin’s home on Sunday night. The OPP Forensics Unit, Canine unit and the Fire Marshall are all on the scene. Police are tightlipped about the situation telling Kawartha 411, “There was a fire last night that is being actively investigated with the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshall. He will keep me appraised of the situation and perhaps I will have an official media release tomorrow”

It’s unclear if the two incidents are related at this time.
