Etobicoke man charged after police observe “suspicious” vehicle in business lot

KAWARTHA LAKES-An officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP observed a vehicle as it parked in a business lot on Highway 35 on April 28th, and then noted it quickly departed the area. Police say this led to the officer stopping the vehicle.

Initially the officer was unable to identify the occupants of the vehicle according to police. The ensuing investigation resulted in the driver, Anthwone Robinson, 24 years of age, of Etobicoke, being charged with the following offences:

  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Breach of Probation Order, contrary to the Provincial Offences Act

According to police ,further investigation revealed the presence of cannabis within the vehicle. The officer seized 1gram of cannabis and Robinson was further charged with having cannabis readily available, contrary to the Cannabis Control Act.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and will be impounded for a period of seven days.
