OPP investigating fatal ATV crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 54 year old woman is dead after an ATV crash at a property on Fenel Road South of Kirkfield.

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP and emergency crews were shortly before 5:30p.m. this evening.

Police say a lone female rider was located by friends, after her ATV rolled and she was ejected from the machine. The 54-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area of the crash has been cordoned off and police will remain on-scene for several hours while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measure, document the scene, and gather evidence. The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.

No name has been released.
