Kawartha North Family Health Team losing Doctors

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha 411 has learned that the Kawartha North Family Health Team is losing two Doctors.

Dr. Negin Mastouri has been working with the North Kawartha Family Health Team since 2014. She originally began working in the Fenelon Falls clinic and has been working out of Bobcaygeon for the last couple of years while commuting to Toronto where she also practices medicine.

Dr. Mastouri is an Attending Physician at Westpark Health Care Services in Toronto. She will continue to practice in Toronto.

Mastouri told patients that the winter weather and the death of a colleague, Dr. Ali Al-Beer in a car crash in January prompted her decision. Read the full story here:

Dr. Mastouri will be leaving in may 2019 and Dr. Caines will be joining the team the middle of May and will be taking all of her patients.

Dr. Druzen is also leaving the Fenelon Falls Clinic at the end of May. His patients will be divided between Dr. Zung and Dr. Jacob in Fenelon Falls.

in 2016 Kawartha Lakes was added to the list of “areas of high physician need”. The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative has been actively recruiting to try and fill the gaps. KLHCI is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to recruit and retain family doctors for the City of Kawartha Lakes.
