Special Weather Statement issued for Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Kawartha Lakes with significant rainfall likely Sunday and Sunday night.

Rain associated with an approaching low pressure system is expected to move into Eastern Ontario by early afternoon on Sunday and persist until Monday morning.

Total rainfall amounts of of 15 to 25 mm are possible. The ground is still at least partially frozen over much of Eastern Ontario. As a result, it will have a limited ability to absorb this rainfall.

Localized ponding in low-lying areas and on roads is possible.

One centimetre of snow is also possible on Sunday as the temperature dips to 1 degree.
