OPP investigating fatal crash on Selwyn Road

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP is investigating a fatal crash at approximately 4:00pm today on Selwyn Road between the 11th and 12th Lines.

Police say a sport utility vehicle was travelling southbound when it crossed the center line and collided with a northbound sedan. A passenger in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the sport utility vehicle and the driver of the sedan were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin are notified.

Selwyn Road remains closed between the 11th and 12th Lines while members trained in Collision Reconstruction measure and document the scene. The Selwyn Road closure will remain in place for several hours while police investigate.
