PETERBOROUGH-Police say bear spray was deployed into a crowd of people during a large disturbance in downtown Peterborough early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 16, 2018 officers responded to a large disturbance at the intersection of George and Charlotte Streets. It was reported that during the altercation the co-accused brandished bear spray and deployed the spray into the crowd that had gathered in the area.
A short time later police located the suspects inside a motor vehicle where they were placed under arrest. During the search incident to arrest officers allegedly located a canister of bear spray along with an air soft rifle.
Prince Jah-King Sun Taitt, 20, of Southfield Avenue, Courtice, Ontario, is charged with the following:
· Administer noxious thing with intent – endanger life or cause bodily harm
· Assault with a weapon X5
Tyler James Thompson, 21, of Central Park Boulevard, Oshawa, Ontario, is charged with the following:
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (bear spray)
· Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
