Lindsay youth washing police cars for a cause

KAWARTHA LAKES-Most kids dream of carefree summer days spent at the beach or riding bikes. But a group of young people from Calvary Penticostal Church spent the day washing police cars at the Kawartha Lakes Police station in Lindsay. It was part of a two week basketball camp sponsored by “Their Opportunity” and the Ontario Basetball Association. Their Opportunity provides low-income families with the means to enroll their children in local sports programs so that children can develop the confidence, social skills and healthy lifestyle attainable through sport. One of the requirements is for the kids to do something to give back to the community. Have a look!
