Police remove 3 adults and a child ice fishing on Rice Lake

PETERBOROUGH-Officers with the Peterborough County OPP were notified by a concerned citizen regarding 3 adults and a child fishing on Rice Lake shortly after 5pm yesterday.

OPP officers attended with other emergency services personnel, Peterborough EMS and the Otonabee South Monaghan Fire Department. Police say everyone involved was safely removed from the ice surface.

The Peterborough County OPP wishes to remind the public that no ice is 100 percent safe and with warmer temperatures ice surfaces are currently unstable.
