Buckhorn LCBO found with bullet holes this morning

Shoppers at the LCBO in Buckhorn got quite a surprise this morning when they arrived at the store to find a number of police vehicles and the building taped off.

Peterborough County OPP say they were called to investigate at the Buckhorn LCBO store this morning shortly after 9:00am when an employee called them after discovering bullet holes in the store sign and the front door.

Police cordoned off the area on Lakehurst Road, while members of the Forensic Identification Services (FIS) collected evidence. Investigators were able to view the store’s video surveillance footage and were able gain more information.

Surveillance shows a male with a grey hoodie walk up to the store with a long gun shortly after 11pm. The male shoots at the store’s sign and leaves. The same male reappears, a couple minutes later, and shoots at the front door. The suspect never gains entry to the store and appears to flee towards the Buckhorn Locks. Police say he is armed and dangerous.

Investigators are actively looking for information that may lead to a suspect or suspect(s) in this case. Police urge the public to call in tips on this case, or others, to the Peterborough OPP at 705-742-0401, the non-emergency line (888) 310-1122 or to Crime Stoppers.
