PETERBOROUGH-Police responded to a Goodfellow Road apartment building around 3:30am Thursday morning after receiving reports of a sudden death at the home.

Paramedics worked on the patient at the scene and later transported the victim  to PRHC where they succumbed to their injuries.

Police Officers and the Forensics Unit have been on scene at the apartment building all day. There are reports tenants of the building reported hearing a single gunshot before police arrived but that has not been confirmed by police.  Witnesses say there was a trail of blood down a stairwell as well.

Police are not releasing any information other than to say they are investigating a sudden death.

No names have been released.
