Some additional locks opening tomorrow on the Trent Severn Waterway

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Trent Severn Waterway will continue to open in stages due to recent precipitation and high water levels.

Officials say the staged opening of the waterway is necessary to protect boater safety and help prevent further shoreline erosion and property damage experienced by local residents.

Water levels remain very high and while some lock stations are operating intermittent closures may still be necessary due to weather conditions. The TSW ways it will make every effort to alert boaters of any unforeseen closures or delays and updates will be provided regularly.

The table below is the most recent status of locks stations that will be open for navigation. This list will be effective as of 9am on June 2nd and will be revised and updated until all stations are fully open.

All other lock stations will be open to land-based visitation but closed to boat traffic. Visitors are encouraged to exercise caution around the water but especially now with water flows being unpredictable.
