Fenelon Falls Secondary School was placed on lockdown this afternoon after a “threat” was allegedly made to the school.
Police from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP got the call at approximately 2pm regarding a safety concern at the Fenelon Falls Secondary School. A “Hold and Secure” was initially put in place while a threat was investigated. Police say when the identified suspect couldn’t be located the school was put into a “Lockdown” in order to ensure the safety of students and staff.
A 16 year old male youth was located and arrested a short time later and the “Lockdown” has now been lifted.
Busses from the school were about 15 minutes late leaving as a result of the incident.
The investigation is continuing.
