Top local businesses honoured in Lindsay

The Lindsay and District Chamber of Commerce honoured the best in local business at the Evening Of Excellence Awards on Friday night at Lakeview Arts Barn (LAB)in Bobcaygeon.

Mike Perry, the Executive Director of the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team was named Citizen of the Year. Dave Tomlinson of St. Dave’s Diner was named Business Leader of the Year.

The LAB hosted the awards and Bobcaygeon’s Globus Theatre won the award for Arts Excellence. Globus’ James Barrett & Sarah Quick were both on hand to receive the award.

Hundreds of people enjoyed the night with a lovely meal while the best of the best in local business and community innovation were honoured. Here’s a full list of the winners.

Pamela VanMeer is a two time winner of the prestigious Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Award. Her investigative reports on abuse in Long Term Care Homes garnered international attention for the issue and won the Ron Laidlaw Award. She is a former reporter and anchor at CHEX News, now Global Peterborough and helped launch the New CHEX Daily, a daily half hour talk show. While at CHCH News in Hamilton she covered some of the biggest news stories of the day.
