A disturbance among several men in downtown Beaverton Friday night has led to Durham Region’s sixth homicide of the year according to police.
At approximately 10:30 p.m.on May 26th, officers were called to a disturbance in the downtown area of Beaverton where they found a male collapsed on Dundas Street. The 21-year-old male victim was rushed to hospital in Orillia, but later succumbed to his injuries. Police are in the process of notifying next of kin.
Officers in the area were able to locate a second victim with a stab wound. A 35-year-old male is being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The Homicide Unit is on scene to lead the investigation, supported by the Forensic Identification Unit and members of North Division.
