An ongoing neighbour dispute at a Lindsay Street South apartment building allegedly escalated on Tuesday resulting in the arrest of a 26-year-old woman.
The City of Kawartha Lakes Police say they got the call just before 10am from a women who said she’d been assaulted. Officers say they learned that the assault had occurred after the woman left her apartment with her boyfriend. There was apparently an exchange of words between the victim and her next door neighbour, who police say struck the victim in the back the head with her cell phone. A more in-depth investigation revealed that the accused woman had also been allegedly throwing eggs from her part of the balcony onto the victim’s part of the balcony.
26-year-old Heather McNown of Lindsay has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Mischief Under $5000.
