Busy long weekend for Kawartha Lakes OPP

Kawartha Lakes OPP officers were kept busy over the long weekend with more than 130 calls for service.

Approximately 150 traffic tickets were issued on City of Kawartha Lakes roadways and there were 10 motor vehicle collsions according to Police.

Officers also responded to other occurrences such as  animal and noise complaints and criminal and driving offences.

Police say they had to break up a large, outdoor party in Bethany on May 20th and a youth was cautioned on May 19th for throwing gravel at passing vehicles.

Over the weekend officers responded to seven different domestic disturbance at residences and campgrounds in CKL. Three of these occurrences resulted in charges of Assault or Assault causing Bodily Harm.

A man from Etobicoke was charged with impaired driving.
