An anonymous tip from a concerned citizen led to the arrest of a man who was observed to be driving his truck with an open beer according to police.
Kawartha Lakes Police received a tip that a man had just pulled up to a Queen Street residence and got out of his truck carrying an open beer on Monday night at approximately 8:30. When Police arrived they located the vehicle but there was no one around it. Police say they received a second call at 9:57 pm but when they responded the truck had left the area. Officers continued to patrol in the area and eventually located the vehicle driving southbound on Adelaide Street. A roadside alcohol screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail, he was arrested and transported to Kawartha Lakes Police were they provided further samples of their breath, which registered over the legal limit according to police.
38-year-old Darrell Moulsdale was charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than The Legal Limit of Alcohol in his blood. Moulsdale’s vehicle was impounded for seven days and his licence has been suspended for 90 days as a result of being charged.
