KAWARTHA LAKES-Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay has announced a new partnership with Peterborough Regional Health Centre. The two will be sharing a Chief Financial Officer.
Kate Farnell will fulfill to role of Vice President/Chief Financial Officer — a role she also performs at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Farnell is a Chartered Accountant with a Master’s degree in business and ten years of financial management experience in the public and private sectors according to the Ross.
“We’re happy to bring Kate on board as our new VP/CFO,” said Dr. Bert Lauwers, RMH President and CEO. “Kate’s expertise and experience will complement the talents of our current leadership team and help us navigate the fiscal challenges we face.
The Ross Memorial has been integrating leadership roles for several years. They say it’s an approach that has proven to optimize shared services while reducing costs.
Farnell has held her current position with PRHC since April 2017, and previously held the roles of Director, Finance and Controller with the Health Centre. In her current and previous roles, Kate has overseen financial reporting and budget processes, as well as payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury functions.
She has a Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University and a Master’s of Management and Professional Accounting from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
Today is the first day on the job for Farnell who takes over for the former long-time VP/CFO Leo Boyle, who passed away in October.
