KAWARTHA LAKES-Councillor John Pollard has been released from a rehabilitation facility in Toronto after falling from a float at the Fenelon Falls Santa Claus Parade in November.

Pollard was on a float with fellow Councillors Andrew Veale And Pat O’Reilly. All three were apparently standing in the back of a pick-up truck in the parade and waving to the crowd. He is the Ward 8, Lindsay, Councillor.

The truck was one of the first floats in the parade. The vehicle had to come to stop and when it started again Pollard fell backward off of the truck, hitting his head.

Pollard was put into intensive care at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto with a “head” bleed and broken vertebrae. He was then transferred to a Toronto rehabilitation centre.

Pollard came home for 72 hours at Christmas and later returned to rehab. He came home for good today.
