Fenelon Falls woman charged with impaired driving after crash near Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Fenelon Falls resident is facing charges including impaired driving following a car crash on Thursday night.

 Police say at approximately 7:15 p.m. a two-vehicle collision took place on County Road 10 and Hayes Line. A car allegedly driven by the accused failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with pick-up truck that was travelling southbound on County Road 10. No injuries were reported as a result.

According to officers they noted a strong odour of alcoholic coming from the accused’s breath.  A subsequent breath test revealed the accused had more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

28 year old Shannon Thompson of Clifton Street, Fenelon Falls, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with more than 80mg blood alcohol content.

 The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 11, 2018.
