Four deaths and a dozen drug overdoses in Durham in the past two weeks

DURHAM-Durham Regional Police are warning the public after three suspected fatal overdoses overnight.

At approximately 3:40 a.m. this morning  police were called to an apartment building on Falby Court in Ajax where two males had been found deceased. The males, one in his 30s and the other in his 40s, were found in an apartment with drug paraphernalia according to police.

A few hours later police were called to the scene of a sudden death in Bowmanville. A male in his 20s was found deceased. Police believe he died of a drug overdose.

Officials say they are concerned that the drugs used may have been mixed with another substance, possibly Fentanyl. In the past two weeks, there have been four fatal over doses and 12 non-fatal over doses in Durham Region.

Police are asking the public to speak to their loved ones about the dangers of drug use and the possibility of drugs laced with other substances, such as Fentanyl in order to try to stem the tide.
