PETERBOROUGH- Peterborough Police say a male in his 40’s has died in an incident on Monday afternoon at approximately 3:30.

Peterborough Utilities says an employee for a third party company came into contact with the power lines on Brealey Drive between Ireland Drive and Parkhill Road.

The incident knocked out power to homes in the area for hours while police and the Ministry of Labour investigated. There are reports it is a Bell Canada employee but police have not confirmed that.

Peterborough Police closed the roads in the area to traffic and have since re-opened all roads.

There are reports that  Ornge Air Ambulance was called in and landed in a field nearby but left without a patient on board.
